The Ocean Literacy Program is open to the public: families, community groups, universities and office teams. Participants learn about coastal and marine ecosystems by doing, not just listening.
The programme brings together three sessions:
- Mangrove exploration: walk through the mangrove forest with a village guide to learn its species, its wildlife and how it protects the coast.
- Coral transplantation: see how damaged reefs are restored by attaching healthy coral fragments to restoration frames.
- Games and reflection: team challenges that reinforce what participants have learned, closing with a sharing circle about what they learned and felt.
Schools near the reserve are supported through the separate Mangrove Sister School programme. School groups from further afield are welcome to join the Ocean Literacy Program.
